BSc Accounting & Finance/Professional Accountant Apprenticeship

Specifically designed with industry for students wishing to develop a long term career in accounting or finance, the programme can be completed either through the Professional Accountant Higher Level Apprenticeship or on a part-time non-apprentice route. Students on the Higher Level Apprenticeship are supported by their employer and attend the university for block week tuition that, through consultation with an Industry Forum, was felt to be the most beneficial to both students and their employers.

Through development of the course with accounting professionals, a skills matrix was produced that, when mapped to academic levels, is used throughout the degree programme to define assessment requirements. The development of students’ skills is therefore integral to the degree; guaranteeing student learning is relevant to the industry and ensuring students graduate ready to apply their learning in the workplace.
