Enabling ambitions - Orkney College, University of the Islands and Highlands

17 Feb 2016

After taking a break from working in a local jewellery firm to have her own family Norna Sinclair initially came to our Orkney College UHI campus to do further education courses Introduction to Textile Design; and then Applied Textile Design before being encouraged by her tutor to progress on to the BA (Hons) Fine Art Textiles. Now in her 3rd year of the degree, Norna recently showcased her work at the Pier Arts Centre in Orkney:

“The highlight for me this year has been my first exhibition held at the prestigious Pier Arts Centre as part of my Professional Practise 2 module. The key elements of the module are curation, interpretation, marketing and PR and the college have a collaboration with the Pier Arts Centre allowing me to exhibit there.”
