MillionPlus comments on the Social Mobility Advisory Group report

10 Oct 2016

MillionPlus, the Association for Modern Universities, has today (10 October) commented on the Social Mobility Advisory Group’s final report, Working in partnership: enabling social mobility in higher education.

Pam Tatlow, Chief Executive of MillionPlus, said:

“This report is very timely and its recommendations will support the education opportunity zones announced by Justine Greening, Secretary of State for Education, at the Conservative Party Conference, which will help improve attainment and promote social mobility in different parts of the country.

“Modern universities have led the way in creating new opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds. We welcome this report which confirms our experience that the sharing of good practice, collaboration between universities, schools, colleges and employers and changes to admissions practices are all key features of ensuring that there are opportunities for everyone.”
