MillionPlus comments on the HEPI policy paper - Protecting the public interest in HE

13 Oct 2016

MillionPlus, the Association for Modern Universities, has today commented on the new HEPI policy paper, Protecting the public interest in higher education.

Pam Tatlow, Chief Executive of MillionPlus, said:

“MillionPlus supports the powerful arguments made by Bill Rammell that the public interest should be part of the responsibilities of the Office for Students. We also believe that there is little to be gained and much to lose if the criteria for degree awarding powers and university title are watered down.

“Ministers should use Report stage in the House of Commons to table amendments to the HE and Research Bill to ensure that it protects the interests of students and the reputation of the UK’s world-leading university system.”
