million+ welcomes UCAS Progressive Pathways report findings

28 Jan 2016

The university think-tank million+ has welcomed the conclusion reached in UCAS’s Progressive Pathways report that more support is needed for the growing number of higher education students with non-traditional qualifications.

Professor Dave Phoenix, Chair of million+ and Vice-Chancellor of London South Bank University, said:

“This report could not be more timely: in 2015, one in four English students accepted to higher education had at least one BTEC among their qualifications.

“Modern universities have been at the forefront of providing opportunities for students who have qualifications other than A levels. It is important that higher education policies and practice work for all students, and this is a step in the right direction.”
