Back in Business: what can modern universities do to support Britain's recovery?
11am-12:30pm, Sunday 4 October 2020

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed how we live our lives and how all sectors of the economy operate. As the UK builds its recovery from both the virus and its wider impacts, what have we learned about how our universities have responded to the crisis and what more can they do to support the full recovery over the next few months and years? Join our panel event with representatives from the sector and the Minister to discuss the role of higher education, our modern universities, and the next generation of the UKs critical key worker pipeline.

Partnering with GuildHE, we're hosting a live virtual fringe session as part of the Conservative Party conference. Join sector experts and the Secretary of State for Education, Gavin Williamson MP, to discuss how higher education has responded to the pandemic, and how modern universities are vital to the UK's recovery.

To watch the live stream, register here using either the member or observer pass options.

Confirmed Speakers include:

  • Rt Hon Gavin Williamson MP, Secretary of State for Education
  • Professor Rama Thirunamachandran, Chair of MillionPlus and VC of Canterbury Christ Church University
