MillionPlus comment on the HEPI/YouthSight pre-election poll
MillionPlus, the Association for Modern Universities, has commented on the Higher Education Policy Institute and YouthSight pre-election poll of students published today (4 May).
Pam Tatlow, Chief Executive of MillionPlus, said:
“It is hugely encouraging that 93% of respondents report that they are on the electoral register and that the majority are planning to vote, and it is interesting that many see the rising costs of tuition fees as a problem.
“However, this survey covered only 1,000 students and we know that many students and young people are not registered to vote. Whatever their political views, the message to students has to be clear: if you want a say in your future, don’t delay, register to vote and if you need one apply for a postal vote or a proxy vote as well.”
