MillionPlus comment on the announcement of the Knowledge Exchange Framework
MillionPlus, the Association for Modern Universities, has commented on the Knowledge Exchange Framework, announced by Jo Johnson MP, Minister for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation, at today’s Hefce conference.
Pam Tatlow, Chief Executive of MillionPlus, said:
“To be successful in achieving value for money for taxpayers, the Knowledge Exchange Framework needs to look at the full range of knowledge exchange activities, not just commercialisation, IP and spin outs. This means that it must recognise the wider activities in which modern universities are engaged which both improves productivity and adds societal value, including in regions which have historic weaknesses in terms of growth.
“We look forward to working with the government and Research England on the development of a Knowledge Exchange Framework that capitalises on the strengths and impact of modern universities and their research and entrepreneurial activities with SMEs, supply chains and multi-national companies.”
