MillionPlus appoints Dr Greg Walker as Chief Executive
MillionPlus, the Association for Modern Universities, has announced that Dr Greg Walker has been appointed Chief Executive and will take up the post in January 2018 after the current Chief Executive, Pam Tatlow, steps down on 31 December.
Previously Deputy Chief Executive at Colleges Wales and acting Director of Universities Wales, Greg played a key role in the Diamond Review of HE Funding and Student Finance in Wales and has led on the implementation of Universities UK’s review of the UK’s Higher Education Sector Agencies.
Professor Dave Phoenix, Chair of MillionPlus and Vice-Chancellor of London South Bank University, said:
“I am very pleased that Greg Walker has been appointed as our next Chief Executive. He brings a wealth of experience both of universities and of government and will ensure that MillionPlus continues to provide a strong voice for modern universities.”
Dr Greg Walker said:
“I’m excited to be joining MillionPlus at a critical time, at the cusp of a new regulatory system and a renewed debate over university funding. Modern universities are engines of high level skills and drivers of social mobility in cities and towns across the UK. As we seek durable answers to our productivity challenges, I’m convinced that the contribution of modern universities will be a central part of the solution.”
