Westminster Higher Education Forum Seminar: Attracting international students to the UK
Nick Entwistle, Senior Policy and Parliamentary Officer, million+ will be speaking at a Westminster Higher Education Forum Seminar focused on attracting international students to the UK on 6th November 2014. Nick will be a panellist for a discussion entitled 'The international student application process in practice: English language testing, visa requirements and regulation'.
The session will cover topics such as:
- the effects the removal of post‐study work visas affected the recruitment of international students to the UK?
- What will be the likely impact of the reduction ‐ from 20 to 10% ‐ in the level of visa rejections institutions are permitted before losing their highly trusted sponsor status?
- How efficient is the Tier 4 visa application process in practice; what challenges do elements of this ‐ for example evidence requirements and differential risk categories ‐ pose for students and universities respectively?
Nick will share a platform with a range of representatives across the sector including the UK Council for International Student Affairs, EEF and Veristat.
