MillionPlus, the Association for Modern Universities, has today (14 February) commented on the final report from the Student Futures Commission.
Rachel Hewitt, Chief Executive of MillionPlus, said:
“Modern universities have long gone to great lengths, both prior to and during the pandemic, to prioritise student welfare, to ensure that every learner is best able to make the most of their studies and wider university experience. This is just one part of the role these universities play in promoting social justice.
“It is important though that providers never rest on their laurels, particularly given the significant impact of the pandemic, and so MillionPlus welcomes the work of the commission and we’ll consider carefully the recommendations of this important report.”

- What are modern universities? Modern universities are long established centres of higher education in their communities with roots that stretch back decades, if not centuries. Many gained university title following legislation agreed by parliament in 1992. They make up almost half of the UK university sector with over a million students studying at modern universities every year.
