million+ welcomes the publication of a report on part-time higher education from HEPI

Following the report published by HEPI which highlights the importance of part-time higher education, Professor Michael Gunn, Vice-Chancellor of Staffordshire University and Chair of the university think-tank million+, said:

“The distinction between full-time and part-time students is increasingly blurred but the funding and student systems assume that students study either full-time or part-time. The benefits of studying for a degree are significant and life-changing. This report challenges politicians and universities to step up to the plate and adopt the holistic systems common in Europe and elsewhere”.

“It also confirms the need for a campaign to promote the value of higher education to all those who might benefit, including those who wish to study on a more flexible basis”.
