million+ welcomes publication of BIS international education strategy
The university think-tank million+ has welcomed the publication of International Education: Global Growth and Prosperity, the industrial strategy which sets out how government and the education sector will build on UK strengths to take advantage of global opportunities, by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.
Pam Tatlow, Chief Executive of the university think-tank million+, said: ‘Education services and products earn more each year for the UK than the pharmaceutical industries.
‘Transnational education partnerships also bring rich rewards in terms of ‘soft-power’ and mutual benefits for students, societies and institutions.
‘The UK’s competitors all have well-formulated international policies and the publication of a strategy for UK PLC is both timely and welcome.
‘This is an important step in ensuring that the high quality and global reputation of the UK is promoted internationally but also recognised by all government departments.’
