million+ comment on Universities UK report ‘The Funding Environment for Universities: an assessment’

Pam Tatlow, Chief Executive of the university think-tank million+, said:

“One in three undergraduate students now enter university when they are over 21. The fall in participation of full-time mature students highlighted in this report and the 40% decline in those studying part-time confirm the need for urgent action”.

“It is not enough for Ministers to look to universities and colleges to do more outreach work. University is not just for young people and this message needs to be hammered home by government in a national campaign to promote the value of higher education”.
