MillionPlus calls on the government to outline its immigration plan for higher education post-Brexit

14 Feb 2018

MillionPlus, the Association for Modern Universities, has today (14 February) called on the Government to outline its immigration plan for higher education post-Brexit as a matter of urgency following the publication of the Home Office Delivery of Brexit: Immigration report by the Home Affairs Committee.

Professor Dave Phoenix, Chair of MillionPlus and Vice-Chancellor of London South Bank University, said:

“The report rightly states that delays to the Immigration White Paper have created anxiety for EU citizens in the UK, many of whom are our students and university colleagues. These people have committed to work and study in the UK and are of vital importance to our higher education sector, and the wider economy.

“If government is unable to provide the much needed clarity around the status of EU  staff and students we risk putting a successful sector and its world-leading reputation at unnecessary risk.”
